Bulk editing of time entries in Apollo!

Yes, Apollo finally supports bulk editing of time entries. You can now go to the project area, click on "time", run a detailed time report, and edit several entries at the same time (or, delete them):

As you can see from the screenshot, you can change the status of your entries after ticking the right ones. You can also select them all.

Log time, and report time, on a contact with Apollo

Time reports is one of the top feature requests in Apollo. While we can assure you that we are working on bulk actions on time reports (so that you can mark several of them as billed, for example), we are also enhancing the time reporting abilities in Apollo.

What's new in Apollo: several small improvements

Although development efforts have been focusing on upgrading Apollo's foundation libraries, we still worked towards improving our users' experience. So, if you used Apollo in the last few weeks, you probably noticed some small improvements that made it into it.

Here is a quick list:

Configurable project name in email subjects

With the reply-by-mail feature, we discovered that Gmail would ignore anything in brackets when deciding where to file your email. This meant that two tasks with the same name, but belonging to two different projects, ended up in the same conversation.

Billable time entries in Apollo

If you are an Apollo user, you probably already know that we really listen. One of the requests we receive often is to strengthen the time tracking abilities within Apollo. So, the latest feature that made it into Apollo is the "status" field for time entries. This will expand the possible use of timers, in terms of billing — which will be improved further over time.

Improved time reports across all projects

Reporting is one of the most important aspects in project management. This is why we are working towards making Apollo's reporting abilities stronger. We have just improved reporting across all projects.

Before this change, if you went to the Projects Dashboard and clicked on "Time", you had a breakdown of how much each person had spent on each project, with a pie chart next to it. You could also download this information as CSV, and filter by person.

Apollo now uses Dojo 1.7: hello IE9 support, HTML5, and more

Some of our users probably noticed that over the last few weeks Apollo's changelog changed a lot less than usual. If you thought that we were slacking off development, think again: we worked really hard to upgrade Apollo so that it used the latest version of Dojo. Here the what happened.

Tag management in Apollo

One of the most requested features as far as Apollo's CRM was the possibility to manage contact tags within Apollo.

One typical scenario is having a contact with a mispelled tag: Apollo's auto-completion basically means that that spelling mistake was given as an option to the users every time.

Implementing tag management was trickier than one can imagine. One of the big issues is about visibility of contacts. For example, you might have Contact X with tags A, B, C and Contact Y with tags C, D and E. Assume you only have access to contact X. If you change tag A, it's all fine.

News on development: what's new in Apollo?

When you work on your car, sometimes you do things that really show: a paint job, shiny new handles, etc: everybody will see them. Some other times, you might add some fancy indicator to the dashboard: every user will notice them. Finally, sometimes you need to work on the engine itself: nothing changes from the outside, and the car is still the same car as ever. However, the engine is happier and will run for longer.

Well, over the last 2 weeks we have been working on Apollo's engine. We are working on the major update of one of the main Javascript libraries we use.

Attach a contact to a project in Apollo

We were often told that most projects belong to one of the contacts in the address book. That's why one of the most requested features in Apollo was the possibility of creating a link between a contact in your address book and a project.

This is now possible.
