More UI advancements: time charts, new message form, new milestone page

Hi there,

In my previous post I talked about some of the improvements that made it into Apollo early last week. There is more! We worked on some elements of the interface based on your feedback. Here we go:

Time charts in time reports

When you see a time report (in the Projects dashboard), you can see what people are working on. When you click on a person's name, you now also see a pie chart that shows you which projects they have been working on.

New message form

We improved the form to create a new message: it's now larger, and has an extra tab to subscribe people, set the milestone and the category it belongs to.

New milestones page

We redesigned the milestones page so that all of the important information is as visible as possible.

There is obviously more to come -- stay tuned!

Great job guys! The UI keeps getting better all the time. Hope to see some of that clean UI transfer over to the email notifications. They look pretty plain

Hi,

We might eventually turn them into HTML emails. But... we also are big fans of simplicity, and a text-only email is easy to read on any device...

I totally agree with simplicity. One thing I do miss that was with basecamp is the very easy to read emails that went out for a project. Here is an example screenshot https://shinybot.box.net/shared/kbd88q3lnsnet9r8psdq

This format really grabs my attention

Hi,

We will eventually introduce HTML emails. However, text-only emails do have their advantages: they read well on *any* devices, and are much less likely to be marked as spam by filters...!

Bye!

As always, the UI gets better and better. And I'm very okay with plain text emails... I just want Reply By Email and direct links to attached files in emails.

So here's to many years as your customer ahead.

This is great! Do you have any plans to translate Apollo into other languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese...)? That would make our entire decision of CRM/Project management SaaS go away!

Hi Alberto,

the internationalization infrastructure work in Apollo is ready. Many users already offered their help to translate Apollo into their native languages, so we've developed a little web application for translators which will hopefully ease the process.

Contact us by email if you'd like to be a translator!

Awesome! But isn't it about time you added a favicon? I have Apollo set as a pinned tab in FF and it has no favicon! :p

Hi Gemma,

We do have a favicon! However, a bug in Firefox prevents it from displaying it... we are waiting for them to fix it!
