Export of a user-specified range of contacts in CSV format

Hello everybody,

As you probably know, we are now working on features that are meant to enhance Apollo's openness. In terms of contacts, the first step in this direction was Apollo's email integration. This allowed you to add notes to contacts by simply sending an email to a dropbox address, or replying to a task comment by hitting "reply" in your email program.

Many Apollo customers want to be able to import a subset of their contacts into other systems (like Mailchimp), so that they can bulk-email them with updates. The potential of having a list of all contacts with the tag "Monthly newsletter" is quite obvious.

This is why we developed this great functionality: you can now filter your contacts in any way you like (for example by several tags, or using the search box) and then have a CSV file containing all contacts matching that specific filter.

If you are exporting a high number of contacts, you will see this dialogue box:

Since you are exporting several contacts, we have placed your request in a queue. You will soon receive an email with a link to the file containing your exported contacts. Please make sure the email doesn't get blocked by your filter: it will come from do-not-reply@apollohq.com

It won't be long -- although it depends on how many contacts you had.

After a few minutes, you will get an email with a link, so that you can download your contacts in CSV format.

Let us know if you have any issues with this great enhancement!

Great Feature! It would also be very nice to import contacts as well. I think maybe vcards and multi-vcards would cover a lot. I could export contacts from my mac address book into vcards and import to Apollo.

Hi,

We will eventually support vCard import.
For now, if you can get your contacts in CSV format from your Mac Addressbook application, you could then organise the CSV file like the one created by Highrise, and import them following this FAQ:

Bye!

Merc.
