More features: quietly create projects from templates, log time on closed tasks, create private elements by default

We are working hard on improving Apollo more and more. We will make some big announcements in the coming weeks. However, we realise that our users are feature-thirsty, and also work on smaller improvements that will tend to make your life easier -- and more fun. Let's see what they are.

Create a project from a template, without adding entries in the activity

A lot of people have very active workspaces. When a project is created using a template, the activity log gets suddenly filled up with a lot of entries. This was considered a "feature": the trail was there, just as if somebody had created the project by hand. This had a side effect: when creating a project from a big template, the activity log would suddenly get very busy (a few pages worth) with entries. This would disrupt the ability of the group to follow the workspace's activity. This is why we offered this option:

Log time for closed tasks

When we designed Apollo, we considered that it didn't make sense to log time on closed tasks. It turns out that we were wrong: often people forget to log time, for example. This is why we now allow users to log time on closed tasks. Since it's not something that would happen "ordinarily", we only allow it from the task page itself.

Keep things private by default

In some secretive projects users want to make sure that items (task lists, messages, comments, files) are marked as private by default. This means that external users won't be able to see them (unless their company has the right special permission to do so).

You can now do this by ticking the box Set new elements as private by default (task lists, messages, comments, files) under Project > (Your project) > Settings.

As always, we hope you enjoy these new features -- let us know what you think!
