Hello, world!
Hello friends,
my name is Andrea Di Clemente. I am the owner of Applicom. Applicom is a small company in the middle of Italy. I started it in 2001 with Enrico (who left after a little while). Both Enrico and I had worked as IT consultant for 5 years.
I am a programmer, hence the title of this first blog post.
I have always been a programmer and system administrator (I will spare you from the boring details, maybe I'll torture you in one of my next posts). I am also the business person here. Like anybody else, I have made a few mistakes and missed out on a few opportunities in the past; I was lucky enough to learn from those mistakes, and started Apollo.
So, why this blog? Thanks for asking! The short answer is, after a short transition period of one year, we are changing from a service company to a product company. It's been exciting, and just like the best things in life, this big change was the result of a long chain of events (chance had a big part here).
Being a product company has implications -- especially if your products are online! We realise that our customer expect to talk to us, and that's why we (along with this blog) are here. We will keep you in the loop as far as our products' development is concerned, and will give you some insight on how our products evolve.

Good luck in the world of SaaS design and development. You have an interesting product model here. As an avid BaseCamp user I'm very curious to see how Apollo progresses, especially what the plans are for pricing when making the transition from beta to public launch.

• Are you Linux, Mac, or PC?
• How does Applicom publish blog posts (exp. Drupal, WP, TypePad, other)?
• During your long hours of grind, what was a big inspiration of yours?
• When will Applicom bundle Apollo into a format for user's to "work offline"?
• Are you a fan of Humphrey Bogart?
• What is the name of your blog (I only see content in the URL)?

Hi There,
1) We use all sorts of systems, for desktop and for servers: from Linux to Mac to Windows...
2) Drupal!
3) Doing something that hadn't been done before
4) Doing this is really, really hard. The honest answer is "maybe, in the future" -- probably only read-only
5) Not especially
6) Not sure I follow you here.
